On Falling [pre-production]
On Falling is a meditative odyssey that plays with the myth of Sisyphus, from the perspective of a lesbian falling slowly through a dark sky. As we follow their fall, we float, drift in and out of dreamlike thoughts and become, in turn, a child that incubates dreams, the moon – their lover –, and a witness to death and rebirth.
The film is an exploration of what it looks and feels like to be denied an identity and existence, but also of how time can slow down when falling, and how answers to existential questions can suddenly arise. On Falling uses a suspension in time as a starting point for enacting deep change on both an individual and societal level – a form of resistance.
